Eden Linton

Drew University; Class of 2024

Eden Linton graduated from Drew University with a Media and Communications major and Photography minor. He wore many hats on campus, working with the Communications team, Launch team and The Art department while volunteering all over. Eden organized an open art exhibition for students featuring photography, poetry, and stories. The hope was that the exhibition would collapse divides of gender, race, and other identities and promote a sense of community on Drew campus. Eden’s Drucker Fellowship project was inspired by the hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, majorly physical distancing, masking, and lockdown which proved the need for living in community and in love. Eden was awarded The Class of 1985 Senior Gift Award Prize which is given to a graduate who demonstrates a strong promise and vision for a more just community. Eden loves helping others as well as learning many different things.

Anushka John

Rutgers University, Class of 2026

My name is Anushka John and I am a junior at Rutgers University currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace and a minor in Japanese. I am a part of the Rutgers Formula Racing club where we design and manufacture our own Formula 1 car and participate in competitions. I hope to work in either the robotics, automotive, or space travel industry furthering the reaches of humanity. I also hope to work in the fashion industry to help others find their own style and confidence. Originally from Pakistan, I moved to Saudi Arabia at the age of 4, and then to the US when I was 10 years old. Being the first to go to a US college in my family has led me to navigate most of my educational and professional life on my own. This is where I discovered entrepreneurship and my desire to help make the world a better place for as many people as I can. I love being able to communicate with people no matter the language, so I currently know five languages and I’m working on learning more. In my free time I like to play video games, spending time with family and friends and my dog (he’s a mini Aussiepoo), learning new languages, and researching any interesting topic I come across.

David Deng

Drew University; Class of 2025

In brief, my name on the government ID is Xiangyu Deng, but I go by David. I am a rising senior majoring in 1. Writing and Communication and 2. French and Francophone study, minor in 1. Linguistic, and 2. Psychology. I am very literate in social media (on which my senior capstone is about), but I voluntarily choose to temporarily take distance from social media exactly because I know everything unhealthy about it. I have created and edited wikipedia page on raciolinguistic last year (first try, far from perfect), I have been an editing staff and editor for two student-run magazines (Insanity Horse and Ma Parole), I have also participated in translating L'encyclopédie de Didier et D'Alembert, a project initiated from University of Chicago. I love online surfing on lesser-known areas of the internet such as Yandex, Rutube and Aparat. My native language is English, and I am also intensively instructed in French. I love talking about Asian American literature, Queer Literature, and their contributions to the vast discussions surrounding critical theories. I think that we aren't aware enough of them all. I am also very critical of Capitalism and Orientalism. I do that because I care about kindness and want to find a way to build a sustainable enterprise without potentially abusing anyone.

Miracle Matthews

Rutgers University - Newark; Class of 2025

My name is Miracle Matthews; I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice at Rutgers University, Newark. I graduated with my bachelor's in Criminal Justice and minors in Psychology and Africana Studies from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, in 2023. Professionally, I work as a Social Service Counselor at a residential facility, supporting clients through crisis intervention. Additionally, I'm a Research Assistant at Rutgers, focusing on African American adolescents in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. During my undergraduate studies, I was in a women's leadership program where I was taught the importance of women in typically male-dominated spaces. Following this program, I created a website (https://www.blkweary.org/) discussing the genuine problem of the disparity within the mental healthcare field for Black women and ways Black women can discover tools to cope while navigating this disparity. Outside of academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy singing, writing, working out, and spending time with friends and family. These activities help me maintain a balanced life and fuel my passion for positively impacting wherever I decide to take my career.

And even more recently, I acquired an executive board position on the African Student Association as Fundraising Chair! In my leisure time, l frequently listen to Afrobeats and R&B. I recently traveled to Brazil and hope to do more trips like that. I enjoy reading and learning new things through experiences. A big passion of mine has always been to uplift and help the underprivileged. I’ve raised awareness through social media and participated in protests for a plethora of causes. I can't wait to combine my love for business and drive for social injustices to target a greater initiative.

Natalia Robles Carré

Rutgers University; Class of 2025

My name is Natalia Robles Carré. I am always excited to learn new things and to find ways in which my professional and personal contributions can make the world a better place. I am a rising senior at Rutgers University majoring in Environmental Policy, Institutions and Behavior (EPIB). As an international student native to Peru, I am secretary of the SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) undergraduate chapter at Rutgers where we focus on the diversification of the STEM field particularly for the Latinx and Native American community, but we extend our resources and community to all students on campus. Furthermore, I work part-time as an improv actor for SCREAM Theater, facilitated by the Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers, where I am able to express my creativity while also raising awareness about interpersonal violence, particularly sexual and domestic violence, with a comprehensive perspective on diversity. Through this, I have been able to continue the social work I began taking part in 2021 as a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) teacher for children, teenagers and parents of students from public schools in my city, Lima, as a member of D(ESI)DE, a student-led organization at my previous academic institution. This work is very relevant in Peru, because in educating youths and parents on CSE, we can help break stigmas and taboos that make children more vulnerable to violence. I believe in the power of education as a whole, which led me to also have the opportunity to work as a volunteer French and English teacher, and academic support tutor for children and teenagers from underserved communities in Peru with several non-profit organizations and government initiatives. On a personal note, I have always been very passionate about art and I am a film, fashion and makeup aficionado. In my free time, I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, writing poems, watching movies and listening to video essays. Finally, it is my hope that the knowledge I have gained –and will continue to gain– from my personal, academic and professional experiences, will allow me to make a valuable impact on the world that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion for all.

Samantha Figaro Olivo

Fairleigh Dickinson University; Class of 2027

Hi there! My name is Samantha Figaro Olivo, and I'm currently a sophomore at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am a first-generation college student majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Justice Advocacy. My passion for criminal justice reform stems from personal experiences within my family, which has driven me to actively volunteer with the local Black Lives Matter organization. Recently, I had the opportunity to intern with them in public advocacy.

I aspire to use the knowledge and skills I gain during my undergraduate years and internships to pursue a law degree and become an immigration lawyer. Beyond my academic and career goals, I have a deep love for music. I enjoy analyzing different genres and discovering new artists. I often joke with friends and family that if I could sing, I might have pursued a career in music. In my free time, you can usually find me spending hours at thrift stores, uncovering unique finds and treasures.

Zikang Jiang

The Lawrenceville School; Class of 2025

I’m a senior at the Lawrenceville School and I’m currently working on a company to optimize food waste management.. For our company, we have 50 serviced households and have 1 business partnership, making us $2.7k annual revenue, just 6 weeks after founding. Currently we are looking to expand to 500 houses over the summer and looking to host a launch day. We believe that to truly solve environmental issues, people, planet, and profit must be aligned. Thus we provide monetarily beneficial ways for potential customers to use our service, i.e provide discounted access to composting services, then compensate the donor of food waste through tax incentives, grocery store coupons etc.

Logan Bruno

Rutgers University New Brunswick, Class of 2026

My name is Logan Bruno and I am a junior at Rutgers University New Brunswick majoring in Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behavior with a minor in Sustainability. At the Aresty Research Center, I am an Aresty Research Assistant working on building social impact networks for food access and security. Outside my work, I am an e-board member for the Rutgers Association of Philippine Students as coordinator for one of our subgroups called the RAPS Acoustic Group of Singers (RAGS). For fun, I like to hang out with friends, take crossfit classes, run, garden, sing, and bake chocolate chip cookies. What motivates me the most is nature’s desire to self sustain itself. We often see nature as a powerful force to be harnessed when in reality we should be viewing nature as an example for how we should live on Earth sustainably.
